Pisa has a Restricted Traffic Area for Tourist Buses all over the municipality. Therefore, to access the city, a tourist bus must pay and pick up a special permit at the checkpoint located in the "via Pietrasantina" parking area ("Fazio degli Uberti" street on GPS). The checkpoint is only reachable along the Via Aurelia, and it is obligatory to pass via Pietrasantina at the junction.

The checkpoint is open every day from 8:30 am to 7:30 pm. In case of late arrival, you can pay and pick up the permit the morning after.
